Platinum Dental started up with a friendship. Back in 2018, Elton was working as a businessman whilst Dr Jet was still working as an associate in a private dental clinic. During a chill drinking session after a night of futsal game together, Jet shared about his ambition to build a dream dental team who focuses on digital dentistry, which was not widely seen in Sabah at that time. Elton was greatly inspired by Jet’s vision and decided to embark on this journey together with his best friend.
As a non-dentist, given his business experience, Elton guides the company with appropriate strategies and aligns the organization.
Together, they aim to focus on offering more radical and innovative technologies in dentistry, which will immensely improve patient’s oral care experience.

Platinum Dental Surgery started with a group of young and enthusiastic dentists, namely, Dr. Yong Chun Jet, Dr. Reagan Chong and Dr. Simon Chin. We established two practices in March 2019 which are located at Api-Api and Inanam in KK.
Our practices are designed to provide a warm and friendly atmosphere for our patients, so that you will feel at ease while receiving your treatments. Furthermore, the dentists are well assisted by a group of highly trained and caring dental assistants and together, they form the firm backbone of Platinum Team.

Dr. Yong was born and raised in Tenom. His passion in dentistry started from a very young age when he noticed there is confidence shining from a person who has a beautiful smile.
On his path to become an established dentist in Malaysia, he first obtained his official practicing license in 2013 from Malaysia Dental Council. Since then, he has been practising dentistry actively in private sector. He is also a Fellows in ICCDE Orthodontics after completing a comprehensive orthodontic course in 2016. He also has accomplished his Mastership in International Congress of Oral Implantology after achieving his Fellowship in ICOI Implant in 2017. Furthermore, he is also a good standing member of American Academy of Implant Dentistry.
As a Y-Gen dentist, he is passionate in aesthetic and digital dentistry. He sometimes uses his time to travel around the world to continue pursuing further learning about digital dentistry. He strongly believes in “Prevention Is Better Than Cure” – it’s wiser to prevent the disease earlier than repair the damage from disease infection at a later stage.
Dr. Reagan was born and raised in KK. His passion in dentistry started from a very young age when he realised that one’s dental cosmetic reflects heavily on one’s image/smile. With his life experience spent in KK and his pride to be “Orang KK”, he always has a dream to turn his passion into his career to serve beloved KK community with his knowledge in dentristry, by establishing dental clinics in KK Metropolitan City.
He graduated from Penang International Dental College (PIDC) in 2013. Since then, he has been honing his dental skills and knowledge in clinics and now he is boasting his 6 years of clinical experience. Moreover, he has completed ICCDE Orthodontic Course in 2018, where he has achieved the title of Fellow in ICCDE Orthodontics. His dental expertise not only restricts to orthodontics, but he also has vast dental interests, especially in endodontics and restorative dentistry. Besides that, he is also a key opinion leader of GC Malaysia, one of the biggest restorative brand in the world. He sometimes travels around to continue educating fellow dentists.
His friendly and cheerful personality makes patients feel at ease whenever they sit on dental chair. During his spare time, he likes to spend quality time with his family. He also enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and jogging.
Dr. Simon Chin was born and raised in Keningau. His passion in dentistry started from a very young age when he realised the importance to educate the public about good oral care routine.
His dream journey to become a reputable dentist in Malaysia started when he was completing his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in Penang International Dental College (PIDC). Next, he started his clinical training by working at Klinik Pergigian Kota Belud. Then, he further improved his clinical experience by working in different specialist departments at different hospitals, namely, in Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Hospital Queen Elizabeth I and in Department of Pediatric Dentistry at Hospital Likas where he worked as a Dental Officer.
He enjoys imparting his skills and knowledge in cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry and endodontics and he actively involves in hands-on courses; for instance, he has attended Advanced Orthodontics Course which allows him to offer a better dental care for his patients. Furthermore, he also has passion in learning the latest techniques and evidence-based dentistry to further enhance the services that he can provide at Platinum.
To him, health promotion plays a rather big role in our everyday life. “I feel that by improving the oral health of my patients by guiding them to a better oral care and awareness at home, I am ensuring my patients to live a healthy and happy lifestyle!” Patients greatly appreciate his commitment and attentiveness to their well-being.
Dr. Lau Jia Xin graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (DDS UKM) on 2013. She attached with various specialist departments during her 1st year of service with KKM. Since then, she later serve at Klinik Pergigian Kawasan Keningau for 3 years & attached with Pediatric Department at Kawasan Keningau.
On year 2016, she joined private practice with a total of 7 years clinical experiences since then.
She is currently joining EODO (Excellence in Dentofacial Orthopedics), an orthodontic programme which deal a lot with children malocclusion.
Her special interest includes restorative dentistry & children dentistry in which she strongly believes that modern dentistry should be delivered in a ‘pain free environment’, regardless of age group.
Dr. Desmond Yap was born in Klang and moved to Kota Kinabalu at the age of 6. He was inspired to be a good dentist after a Paedriatric dentist help him overcome his fear of dental treatment as a child.
His journey to become that dentist began when he completed his Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2015, in Penang International Dental College (PIDC). He then obtained his official practising license in 2016 from Malaysia Dental Council, and was posted to Klinik Pergigian Kawasan Keningau and Klinik Pergigian Sook in 2017. In his 5 years working experience in the government sector, he has clinical working experience with various dental specialities, namely Department of Oral Maxillofacial Surgery and Department of Paediatric Dentistry at Hospital Pakar Keningau. In that time, he has also achieved his Fellowship in International Congress of Oral Implantology in 2017.
Dr. Desmond has a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, paediatric dentistry, endodontics, orthodontics and actively involves himself in the latest hands-on courses. He has passion to give the highest standards of care in dentistry and to help make dentistry a pleasant experience
Dr. Jesse Lee obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree from Melaka Manipal Medical College in 2018 with First Class Honours. During her undergraduate years, she was awarded 1st Place & Best Presenter award at the 10th National Dental Student Scientific Conference.
Dr. Jesse prides herself in providing evidence-based management to her patients and strives to ensure her patients feel comfortable during all treatments.
She believes her conviction in learning, unlearning and relearning dentistry will continue to help her serve her patients better.
Dr Navinesh was born in KL but was raised in Keningau, Sabah since 1996. Comes from a family of dentists which includes his sister and late father and. He started to have passion in dentistry after observing his father providing free dental treatment for the people in the interior of Sabah which had lacked dental services and facilities back in the 90s thus realised the importance of dental hygiene since a very young age. Giving back people their smiles was just so inspiring. Once he completed his studies at Sri Ramachandra University, Chennai, India he did his internship at the same universities dental hospital for 1 year. After graduating he served the government for 3 years in Sabah then ventured into the private sector. Is very interested in modern and digital dentistry and highly motivated in learning latest advancements in dentistry to be able to serve the community in Sabah better. Enjoys his work with a captivating smile and maintains a good rapport with his patients.
Dr Amy was born and raised in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Dr Amy first had the inspiration to enter the field of dentistry as a teen when she realised how much her classmates and even some of the adults she knew feared going to the dentist. She wanted to make the experience more patient-friendly and comfortable, and she decided that the best way to do it was to become a dentist herself.
She graduated from University of Glasgow (Scotland, UK) with Honours in 2019. She then returned to her homeland at the end of the year and obtained her official practicing license from Malaysia Dental Council. Since then, she has been practicing dentistry actively in Malaysia.
Dr Amy enjoys all aspects of dentistry especially patients with dental problems and those who are unhappy with their own smile wanting for improvement. She helps patients to improve their smiles by using braces, dental veneers and crowns, teeth whitening etc to achieve their dream smile.
To provide a better dental care, Dr Amy actively involves herself in the latest hands-on courses and is currently undergoing Progressive Orthodontic Seminar (USA) – which provides a complete orthodontics system to give patients healthy yet beautiful smiles.
To her, dentistry is a beautiful profession. It is not just about teeth. It is about people. It is about interaction. It is about making a difference for others. Dr Amy is very dedicated to the dental health care profession and making sure all of her patients feel comfortable and leave her chair loving their smile.
Dr. Sky has obtained her Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree from Penang International Dental College in 2017. Soon after she served the Ministry of Health as dental officer for 1.5years in Negeri Sembilan.
She found her passion in dentistry and set her sights on becoming a personable dentist, to help understand dental phobic patients and put them at ease with a gentle chair-side manner.
She has 3 years clinical experience in a renowned paediatric dental clinic based in Selangor which has developed her special interest in Interceptive Orthodontic, where she believes good oral habits & improving smiles start from a very young age. She has completed comprehensive Orthodontic programme for General dental practitioner in 2019.
Dr. Sky also has fond interest in Restorative & Aesthetic dentistry. She finds great satisfaction in delivering a personalised smile which restores her patient’s confidence.
